Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: November 6, 2026  •  Last Updated: November 6, 2026

Key points, in plain English

  • Deposits are non-refundable. Cancel or reschedule with 48+ hours' notice and your deposit becomes a credit toward a new date within 90 days. With less notice, the deposit is forfeited.
  • Moving liability is limited to $0.60 per pound per item. We recommend separate moving insurance for valuables.
  • Report any damage within 24 hours of job completion, in writing, with photos.
  • Not a licensed contractor: handyman jobs must be under $1,000 total with no permit required.
  • No warranty on handyman work beyond our 7-day Make-It-Right Promise to fix workmanship issues.
  • Arizona law governs. Disputes go to Maricopa County, Arizona.

This summary is for convenience. The full Terms below control.

1. Agreement to These Terms

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Sonoran Sun Holdings LLC, doing business as Sonoran Sun Services ("Sonoran Sun," "we," "us," or "our"). They govern your use of www.sonoransunservices.com (the "Site") and all moving, labor, handyman, home project, and commercial services we provide (the "Services").

By using the Site, requesting a quote, booking an appointment, signing an estimate or service agreement, paying a deposit, or allowing us to begin work, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Site or Services.

If a written estimate, service agreement, or moving contract you sign with us conflicts with these Terms, the signed document controls for that job. Nothing in these Terms waives any right you have that by law cannot be waived, including your rights under Arizona's household goods mover laws (A.R.S. §§ 44-1611 through 44-1616).

2. Eligibility and Authority

You must be at least 18 years old to book Services. By booking, you confirm that you own the property and belongings involved or are authorized by the owner, landlord, HOA, or business to have the work performed and the items moved, and that you have authority to agree to these Terms. If you book on behalf of a business, you agree to these Terms on that business's behalf.

3. Our Services

Sonoran Sun provides local moving, loading and unloading labor, furniture assembly, handyman repairs and installations, small home projects, and related commercial services. Descriptions on the Site are general. The scope of each job is defined in your written estimate or service agreement. We may decline any job at our discretion, including jobs that are unsafe, outside our service area, or outside the limits described in "Not a Licensed Contractor."

We may use our own team members or qualified independent subcontractors to perform Services. We remain responsible for the Services under these Terms either way.

4. Not a Licensed Contractor

Sonoran Sun is not a licensed contractor. We do not hold a license from the Arizona Registrar of Contractors. Our handyman and home project Services are offered only within Arizona's minor-work ("handyman") exemption from contractor licensing.

Accordingly:

  • We accept a handyman or home project job only if the total price, including labor, materials, and any subcontracted work, is less than $1,000 and the work does not require a building permit.
  • We do not divide a larger project into smaller jobs or invoices to stay under that limit. Please do not ask us to.
  • We do not perform work that requires a licensed trade or a permit, such as electrical, plumbing, gas, HVAC, roofing, or structural work.
  • If a job exceeds these limits, or turns out to exceed them once work begins, we will stop and tell you, and we may refer you to a licensed contractor.

5. Quotes, Estimates, and Changes

  • Estimates are based on the information you give us. If the actual job differs, for example more items, heavier items, stairs, long carries, access problems, or work not described, the price may change. We will tell you before doing additional work.
  • Written approval for additional work. We will not perform services outside the original scope without your approval. For in-state household moves, we will get your written acknowledgment of the expected fee before performing additional services, as Arizona law requires.
  • Arizona household moves. Before we start an in-state household move, you and we will sign a written contract with the information Arizona law requires, including the total estimated price, payment terms, and our loss and damage policy.
  • Hidden conditions. If we discover a hidden condition during a job (such as rot, mold, water damage, pests, or unsafe wiring), we will stop affected work and discuss options with you. We are not responsible for pre-existing hidden conditions.
  • Quotes are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.

6. Deposits and Payment

  • Deposits. We may require a deposit to reserve your date. The deposit amount will be stated in your estimate or booking confirmation. All deposits are non-refundable, except as described in "Cancellations and Rescheduling." Deposits are applied to your final invoice.
  • Payment methods. We accept checks and Zelle, and may accept credit and debit cards through our payment processor. Accepted methods will be listed on your estimate or invoice.
  • When payment is due. Unless your estimate or service agreement says otherwise, the balance is due when the job is completed.
  • Payment before unloading (in-state moves). As Arizona law allows, we may require payment of the total estimated price before unloading. On request, we will always deliver medicine, medical devices, and items needed because of a disability, without extra charge and regardless of payment status.
  • Late payments. Unpaid balances accrue interest at the lesser of 1.5% per month or the maximum rate allowed by law, starting 15 days after the due date. You agree to pay reasonable costs of collection, including attorneys' fees, as permitted by law.
  • Returned payments. A returned check or reversed payment may be charged a returned-payment fee as permitted by Arizona law, plus any bank fees we incur.
  • Taxes. Prices do not include applicable taxes unless stated.
  • Tips are optional and appreciated, and go to the crew.

7. Cancellations and Rescheduling

You may cancel at any time before Services begin. Because we reserve crews and turn away other work for your date, deposits are handled as follows:

  • 48 hours' notice or more: If you cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours before your scheduled start time, your deposit is not refunded, but we will apply it as a credit toward one rescheduled appointment booked within 90 days of the original date.
  • Less than 48 hours' notice, no-shows, and lockouts: If you cancel or reschedule less than 48 hours before your scheduled start, are not present, or we cannot access the property or begin work at the scheduled time for reasons within your control, your deposit is forfeited and no credit is given.
  • If we cancel: If we cancel for reasons other than those described in "Events Beyond Our Control," you may choose a full refund of your deposit or a new date.
  • Weather and safety: If we reschedule because of an event described in "Events Beyond Our Control," your deposit carries over to the new date.

You agree that the deposit is a reasonable estimate of our losses from a late cancellation, not a penalty. Cancel or reschedule by text, call, or email at (480) 549-4528 or [email protected]. Notice is effective when we receive it.

8. Your Responsibilities

  • Give us accurate, complete information about the job, property access, and items, including anything fragile, unusually heavy, or high-value.
  • Be present, or have an authorized adult present, at the start and end of the job, and complete a walkthrough with us before we leave.
  • Provide safe access, parking, working utilities, and any required HOA, landlord, building, or elevator approvals.
  • Keep children and pets safely away from the work area.
  • Remove or secure valuables, cash, jewelry, medications, firearms, and important documents before we arrive.
  • Empty, defrost, and disconnect appliances before a move. We do not disconnect or reconnect gas, water, or electrical hookups.
  • Pack boxes you pack yourself securely, and label fragile contents.
  • Follow our team's safety directions. We may stop work if conditions are unsafe, including aggressive animals, hazardous materials, structural hazards, or harassment of our team. Time lost because of unsafe conditions within your control is billable.

Waiting time caused by delays within your control may be billed at our hourly rate.

9. Items We Will Not Move

We will not move, handle, or transport:

  • Hazardous materials, including gasoline, propane, oil, paint, paint thinners, solvents, pool chemicals, pesticides, cleaning chemicals, aerosols, batteries that are damaged or leaking, fireworks, and anything flammable, corrosive, or explosive;
  • Firearms and ammunition;
  • Cash; and
  • Pets and other live animals.

We strongly recommend that you personally carry jewelry, important documents, medications, keys, irreplaceable or sentimental items, and other small valuables. If you ask us to move such items anyway, our liability is limited as described in "Moving Services: Liability and Claims." If prohibited items are found in a load, we may refuse to move them. You are responsible for any damage, injury, or cost caused by prohibited items you did not disclose.

10. Moving Services: Liability and Claims

We handle every item with care, protecting floors, padding furniture, and wrapping and securing loads. Because accidents can still happen, our liability is limited as follows:

Limited liability: $0.60 per pound per item. For loss of or damage to belongings during moving or labor Services, our liability is limited to $0.60 per pound per item, based on the weight of the individual item, unless a different amount is agreed in writing before the move. For example, the most we would pay for a 50-pound television is $30.00. This is a limit on our liability, not insurance.

We recommend that you buy third-party moving insurance or check your homeowner's or renter's policy for coverage, especially for valuable items.

What is not covered

We are not responsible for:

  • Contents of boxes packed by you unless the box itself shows visible external damage caused by us;
  • Pre-existing damage, prior repairs, or normal wear;
  • Particleboard, pressboard, or ready-to-assemble furniture, or items that are not structurally sound to move;
  • The mechanical, electrical, or internal functioning of electronics, appliances, clocks, instruments, or similar items, unless there is visible external damage caused by us;
  • Items we advised against moving in a certain way, or items moved as you directed against our advice;
  • Items that do not fit through doorways, stairways, or elevators without damage, where we told you of the risk and you asked us to proceed;
  • Prohibited items, undisclosed high-value items, cash, jewelry, documents, or items of sentimental value beyond the limit above;
  • Damage from heat, weather, or other causes described in "Events Beyond Our Control," including to heat-sensitive items such as candles, vinyl records, photographs, and electronics; or
  • Damage caused by you or others not working for us.

Damage to your property or building

We protect floors, door frames, and walls. If our team damages your home or building (such as walls, floors, or door frames), our responsibility is limited to the reasonable cost of repair, with the method and repairer chosen by us, subject to the overall cap in "Limitation of Liability." We are not responsible for minor scuffs in tight spaces we told you about in advance, or for pre-existing conditions.

How to make a claim: report within 24 hours

  • Inspect your belongings and property during the final walkthrough, and note any visible damage before our team leaves.
  • Report any loss or damage in writing to [email protected] within 24 hours after the job is completed, with photos and a description.
  • Keep the damaged item and packaging, and let us inspect it.
  • We may choose to repair the item, replace it, or pay the amount allowed under these Terms.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, claims not reported within 24 hours are waived.
  • A pending claim does not delay or reduce payment of your invoice.

Moves outside Arizona

Unless your written estimate shows our U.S. DOT number and states that we will transport your goods across state lines, our Services for moves to or from another state are labor-only. That means we load, unload, or pack a truck, trailer, or container that you provide or rent, and we do not transport your goods across state lines. Any interstate transportation we provide will be covered by a separate written agreement that complies with federal law, and that agreement will control over these Terms where they conflict.

Labor-only services

When you provide or rent the truck, trailer, or container, you are responsible for the vehicle or container, how it is driven or transported, and any damage that occurs in transit, including from loads shifting. Our liability for items we load or unload is limited as described above.

11. Handyman and Home Projects: Make-It-Right Promise

Handyman and home project Services are provided without any warranty or guarantee of workmanship, materials, or results, except for the Make-It-Right Promise below.

Make-It-Right Promise. If you notify us in writing within 7 days after a job is completed that something we did was not done correctly because of our workmanship, we will come back and correct it at no additional labor charge. This is a courtesy. It is your only remedy for workmanship issues, and it does not include refunds.

The Make-It-Right Promise does not cover:

  • Materials, fixtures, or products you supplied, including their defects, fit, or performance;
  • Pre-existing conditions or hidden conditions;
  • Normal wear, misuse, accidents, or damage by others;
  • Work that has been changed or repaired by anyone else;
  • Exact matches of paint color, sheen, texture, or materials with existing surfaces; or
  • Changes of preference after you approved the work at the walkthrough.

For materials we purchase for you, any manufacturer's warranty passes through to you, and claims under it must be made to the manufacturer.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, all warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and workmanlike performance, are disclaimed, except the Make-It-Right Promise.

12. Commercial Services

For business customers, these Terms apply together with any commercial service agreement or purchase order we accept in writing. You are responsible for coordinating building access, loading docks, elevators, after-hours entry, and property manager approvals. Invoices for commercial accounts are due on the terms stated in the invoice.

13. Photos and Reviews

You agree that our team may photograph and record the job site and your items before, during, and after a job to document conditions and quality. We may use photos of completed work in our marketing, as described in our Privacy Policy, and you may opt out by emailing us.

If you submit a review, testimonial, or other content to us, you grant Sonoran Sun a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, display, and reproduce it, with your first name and last initial, to promote our business. You confirm the content is truthful and reflects your own experience. We never write or post fake reviews and never condition any reward on a positive review.

14. Text Messaging Program Terms

Messages may include quote follow-ups, appointment confirmations and reminders, arrival updates, invoices and payment reminders, customer service, and review requests. If you separately opt in to marketing messages, we may also send offers, promotions, and seasonal reminders. Messages may be sent using automated technology.

  • Message frequency varies.

  • Text STOP to opt out at any time. You will receive one confirmation message and no further messages unless you opt in again.

  • Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchase.
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

You agree to tell us promptly if you change or give up the mobile number you provided. Calls with us may be recorded as described in our Privacy Policy.

15. Use of the Site

  • You may use the Site only for lawful purposes and to learn about or request our Services.
  • You may not misuse the Site, including submitting false information, attempting to gain unauthorized access, interfering with its operation, or scraping or copying its content by automated means.
  • The Site and its content, including text, graphics, logos, photos, and design, are owned by or licensed to Sonoran Sun Holdings LLC and are protected by intellectual property laws. "Sonoran Sun Services" and our logo are our trademarks. You may not use them without our written permission.
  • The Site may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices.
  • The Site is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Prices and information on the Site may change without notice and do not constitute a binding offer until confirmed in your written estimate.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Sonoran Sun, its owners, members, managers, employees, and subcontractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost wages, loss of use, delay, temporary housing, storage, or emotional distress, arising from the Site or Services, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
  • Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Services will not exceed the lesser of (a) the amount you paid us for the specific job giving rise to the claim or (b) the specific limits stated in these Terms, including the per-pound limit for moving Services. Our total liability for claims related only to use of the Site will not exceed $100.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for our gross negligence or willful misconduct, or any non-waivable right you have under Arizona law.

17. Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Sonoran Sun and its owners, members, managers, employees, and subcontractors from claims, losses, fines, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: your breach of these Terms; inaccurate or incomplete information you gave us; prohibited or hazardous items you did not disclose; conditions of your property that you knew about and did not disclose; your lack of authority to authorize the work; or claims by third parties such as landlords, HOAs, or building managers relating to work you authorized.

18. Events Beyond Our Control

We are not responsible for delays or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including extreme heat or excessive heat warnings, monsoon storms, dust storms, flooding, other severe weather, road closures, accidents, vehicle breakdowns, illness, labor shortages, utility outages, government actions, or emergencies. In these cases, we will work with you to reschedule. In extreme heat, we may adjust start times or pause work to keep our team safe.

19. Disputes, Governing Law, and Venue

  • Talk to us first. If you have a concern, contact us at [email protected] and describe the issue and the result you want. Both parties agree to try in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for 30 days before starting any legal action.
  • Governing law. These Terms and any dispute are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and by applicable federal law.
  • Venue. Any lawsuit must be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona, and both parties consent to their jurisdiction. Either party may bring an eligible claim in small claims court.
  • Attorneys' fees. In any action arising out of these Terms or the Services, the prevailing party may recover reasonable attorneys' fees and costs as permitted by law.
  • Individual claims only. To the fullest extent permitted by law, claims must be brought individually and not as part of a class or representative action.
  • Jury trial waiver: To the fullest extent permitted by law, both parties waive any right to a jury trial in any action arising out of these Terms or the Services.
  • Time limit. To the extent permitted by law, any claim must be brought within one year after the claim arises.

20. General Terms

  • Entire agreement. These Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any estimate, service agreement, or moving contract you sign with us are the entire agreement between us about the Services.
  • Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, that part will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted and the rest will remain in effect.
  • No waiver. Our failure to enforce any part of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
  • Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign them in connection with a sale, merger, or reorganization of our business.
  • Notices. We may give you notices by email, text, or mail using the contact information you provided. You may give us notice at the contact information below.
  • Changes. We may update these Terms from time to time by posting a new version on this page with a new "Last Updated" date. The version in effect when you book a job applies to that job.
  • Headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
